We are currently looking for a

Director, Data Science

to join our team.



Position Summary:





The

Director, Data Science

will lead the development and execution of artificial intelligence and advanced analytics strategies. This role ensures that data science initiatives align with organizational priorities and deliver measurable outcomes. Guiding the organization in adopting responsible and effective data practices.


Job Responsibilities:




Defines and oversees the artificial intelligence strategy and roadmap to ensure alignment with organizational goals and priorities. Directs the development and deployment of data science solutions that support business operations and public safety initiatives. Establishes and maintains governance standards for artificial intelligence, including bias detection, model explainability, and compliance. Engages with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for data science applications and ensure alignment with legal, operational, and communications requirements. Leads the development of organizational policies and standards related to artificial intelligence and analytics, including recommendations to senior leadership. Monitors performance of models and systems to identify drift or bias and determine when retraining or updates are required. Oversees vendor relationships and platform deployment for analytics and artificial intelligence tools. Provides leadership for data literacy initiatives across the organization, including training and education. Other related or project duties may also be required.

Job Qualifications:




Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related quantitative field. Minimum of 10 years of experience in artificial intelligence and analytics, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing a team. Proven ability to lead strategic planning and resource allocation across multiple data science initiatives. Skilled in developing and deploying models using tools such as Python, Microsoft Azure, and Dataiku. Strong working knowledge of governance, bias detection, and model explainability. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, to engage with executives and translate technical concepts into business outcomes. Experience managing budgets related to platform licensing and model deployment. Keeps current with trends and best practices in artificial intelligence and analytics.
