What you\xe2\x80\x99ll be doing

CIBC\xe2\x80\x99s Communications and Public Affairs (C&PA) department is responsible for managing all internal and external corporate-level communications to employees, shareholders, clients, media, community organizations and the government. As the Director, Communications, you will be responsible for strategic communications planning, execution and measurement to support the mandate and key initiatives of Canadian Commercial Banking and Wealth Management. Within this scope, you will lead the communications and employee engagement activities that support the CIBC strategy.

How you\xe2\x80\x99ll succeed
  • Strategic Minded - Build and execute on communication strategies in support of key business initiatives that impact Canadian Commercial Banking and Wealth Management employees, partners and CIBC clients. You will work closely with the senior management team of the business to develop and execute communication strategies and plans, and various leader and team events (virtual and in-person) that foster a solid understanding of the purpose-driven and strategic direction of their businesses and CIBC as a whole.
  • Relationship Management - Create trusted advisor relationships and influence with the senior management team. Partner with C&PA and the business to manage highly visible enterprise-wide initiatives by building internal confidence around our CIBC brand. You will work closely with other teams, including Corporate Events, Human Resources, as well as many other key partners across the bank, on communications programs and projects.
  • Leadership and Collaboration - Collaborate and manage relationships with executives and senior leaders for purposes of developing and implementing internal communications strategies/programs, key messages, team events, speeches and presentations. Lead the development of communication plans, prepare and execute internal communications material that reinforces our purpose to make clients\xe2\x80\x99 ambitions real, and drives our bank\xe2\x80\x99s competitive advantage.
