True North Sports + Entertainment is looking for a strategic planner to help shape the future of our venues.
Reporting to the VP, Operations & Integrations Officer, the
Director, Building Project Management
will primarily be responsible for leading major capital projects ($50-$100M) across True North properties--overseeing planning, budgeting, and execution. This role will also support the Facilities team in maintaining brand and design consistency across all venues.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership
: Evaluate, prioritize, and manage capital projects from concept to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and vendor management.
Project Roles:
+ Act as Project Manager for vendor-led initiatives.
+ Serve as Self-Perform General Contractor on moderate scope projects.
+ Represent True North as Owner's Representative for large-scale initiatives.
Design & Brand Standards:
Ensure all projects align with organizational branding and venue design standards.
Compliance:
Maintain adherence to all safety, permitting, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Liaise with internal teams, external contractors, and vendors to keep projects on track and aligned with True North's strategic goals.
Reporting & Administration:
Track budgets, monitor progress, oversee contracts, and provide timely project updates.

What we need from you:
7+ years of progressive experience in construction, project management, and/or facility development.
Proven experience in capital project management or construction management, ideally within a sports and entertainment venue environment.
Demonstrated ability to implement detailed project requirements while maintaining operational efficiency.
Strong skills in budgeting, scheduling, RFP processes, and contractor oversight.
Familiarity with building codes, permitting, insurance, and safety standards.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to gather input from a wide range of stakeholders and deliver clear, effective recommendations.
Highly detail-oriented with a strong understanding of project implementation and venue operations.
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Proficient in project management software and tools.
A collaborative team player, dependable, and capable of managing multiple objectives on tight timelines.
