Purpose:

This role will be reporting to the Vice President of Canadian Banking Analytics as Director, Advanced Analytics responsible for the application of advanced analytics across the CB Retail portfolio to drive immediate and long term value. This role acts as horizontal function across the Canadian Banking Analytics team supporting other analytics teams as well as key business teams directly. This includes maintaining key ML/AI based assets (e.g. Customer Value Index, Financial Vulnerability Index) as well as leading applied innovation to create the next set of reusable assets to benefit the retail bank. The incumbent will lead and develop a team of data scientists to enable the delivery of leading-edge analytics assets and programs.

The position plays a leading strategic role in also integrating with the broader CIDA organization and bringing assets to accelerate the development of tools and assets to drive value for CB Retail.

Accountabilities:

  • Drive evolution of how advanced analytics is practically applied and used across CBA and the broader CB Retail team
  • Create a continuous backlog of ideas and assets that can help drive value through automation, increased customer personalization, optimization
  • Act as a champion and SME for the latest thinking on Advance Analytics across the industry including Machine Learning, AI and related concepts
  • Maintain key assets developed by the team and continue to evolve as business needs evolve including but not limited to Customer Value Index, Financial Vulnerability Index, Machine Learning Accelerator etc.
  • Integrate with broader communities of practice in AI and Machine learning to ensure reuse and shared learning
  • Be a champion of driving adoption of cloud capabilities as the bank moves to GCP ensuring existing assets are migrated and that the team is able to ramp up on new technologies effectively
  • Responsible for having a detailed planning view for all projects undertaken, in a manner that optimizes the ROI from these projects and ensures their alignment with the organization\'s strategic objectives
  • Responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and deliver agreed upon KPI\'s while also identifying opportunities for reusability and scale
  • Develop team and create a high performing culture that nurtures talent and helps bring to life our values of collaboration, growth and respect
  • Identify and coordinate training opportunities across GDAS team, ensuring alignment to GDAS strategy and team needs
  • Support and drive strategic issues and opportunities and collaborate with CB Retail executive team to help drive key business decisions and actions

  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and critical thinking
  • Self-motivated, driven and impact-oriented
  • Ability to manage end-to-end opportunities - from identifying them to helping drive their implementation
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills to rapidly assess problem situations and creatively develop alternate solutions
