We are committed to achieving inclusive excellence and fostering an environment where each member of our community can achieve their full potential.Learn more:Your Opportunity:The Director, Academic Administrative Services (DAAS) provides senior leadership and expertise to the teams that support the faculty, staff, and students in teaching, learning and educational technology. Reporting to the Associate Dean, Academic, the DAAS sets standards and procedures to ensure effective and efficient delivery of administrative services for undergraduate, graduate, continuous professional development (CPD) and education office; allocates and prioritizes human resources; develops strategic and tactical plans for new project/program design, development, implementation, and the refinement/renewal of existing projects/programs. The Director\'s expertise and leadership contributes to the use of educational technology, program quality assurance reviews/self-studies/accreditation, quality improvement processes and new program initiatives.As a hands-on leader, The DAAS empowers and leads the teams under its management in the implementation of strategic priorities and provides tactical direction and operational excellence with respect to Strategic Planning, Operations and Project Management; Strategic Planning and Administrative Operations for LDFP undergraduate, graduate and CPD programs; Financial Management; Quality Assurance and Accreditation Processes; New Programs; Human Resources management. They actively participate in senior level decisions and will be required to work in collaboration with the Program Directors, Administrative Directors, the Faculty Registrar & Director, Student Services, and the Associate Deans (Academic and Research)Qualifications:Education:University Degree in related area (Education, Public Administration, Policy Studies, Quality Management, or other related field.) and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Graduate degree in education idealExperience:Minimum 6 years in a senior administrative support position. Experience in an academic setting working with students, Faculty members/instructors and staff preferred. Academic programs management experience. Demonstrated capacity to implement quality assurance/continuous quality improvement processes. Experience related to quality assurance, program development or policy development. Demonstrable management experience in a unionized environment an asset. Curriculum and program evaluation experience at the post-secondary level. Assessment and or instructional design expertise an asset.Skills:Knowledge of the University academic and support units as they pertain to cross-functional initiatives. Proven influencing and teamwork skills, and the ability to lead co-workers in projects and teams. Strong organizational skills, including time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and work to stringent internal and external deadlines. Attention to detail, organized, superior fact-checking and proofreading skills. Ability to think strategically, critically and analytically, and make appropriate decisions. Comfortable with quantitative and qualitative data.Other:Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills. Proven ability to take initiative and be both creative and flexible. Strong organizational and time management skills, and sound judgment.
