We are seeking an experienced and skilled Directional Drill Operator & Locator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining directional drilling equipment and performing precise underground utility installation with minimal environmental impact. The role requires a combination of technical expertise, safety awareness, and attention to detail.

Operate and maintain directional drilling equipment for the installation of underground utilities (water, gas, telecom, etc.).
Utilize advanced locator systems to ensure accurate placement of underground utilities.
Conduct pre-job site assessments and prepare job sites for drilling activities.
Maintain safe operating conditions by adhering to all company, local, and state safety regulations.
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot issues with directional drilling equipment with the guidance and involvement of the fleet manager and/or mechanic.
Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients to ensure timely project completion.
Monitor the drilling process to ensure it meets job specifications, tolerances, and environmental guidelines.
Accurately document equipment performance.
Provide training and support to junior drillers and assist in the development of best practices for operational efficiency.
Job Requirements:
Proven experience operating directional drill equipment and using locator systems.
Familiarity with utility installation techniques and underground construction projects.
Strong knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to directional drilling.
Ability to read and interpret utility locate documents.
Ability to work in challenging environmental conditions and physically demanding situations.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Certification or training in directional drilling and locator operations.
Valid AZ Driver's License preferred, ARZ license is an asset with clean abstract and CVOR required
Experience with advanced drill systems and/or GPS-based locating technology.
Experience working in urban and remote environments.
Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work in all weather conditions and challenging terrains.
Must be able to climb into and out of equipment safely.
