We are looking for an experienced valuation professional to join the dynamic Investment Support team at iA Global Asset Management (iAGAM), a subsidiary of iA Financial Group. iAGAM employs over 100 seasoned investment professionals and has nearly $100 billion in assets under management. It manages general portfolios, segregated funds and mutual funds for iA Financial Group.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Head of Investment Operations, the Manager, Asset Valuation is responsible for managing the asset valuation activities, ensuring that valuations are accurate, in compliance with regulatory standards and conducted in due course. You will work closely with capital markets and private asset investment managers, as well as with various partners (internal and external) and suppliers in connection with valuations.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Be an influential leader for all investment valuation activities, carrying out daily, monthly and quarterly activities in compliance with established procedures.
In charge of the valuation of financial assets (private investments, certain derivatives and other products)
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, internal company policies and best market practices
Collaborate with portfolio management teams to provide analysis and recommendations on asset valuations
Develop, improve and implement valuation methodologies
Supervise the valuation activities of our administrative partners
Develop automated controls covering the valuation of all financial assets
Prepare valuation summary reports for the various asset classes
Coordinate the activities of the company's Quarterly Valuation Committee
Actively participate in the optimization and scalability of our oversight and reporting processes and tools.
Implement and execute best practices, ensuring consistent policies, procedures, proper controls, and improved reporting efficiency.
Liaise and manage third-party service providers and fund administrators, as appropriate.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/FORMAL TRAINING:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in financial engineering, finance, business administration or equivalent.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of 8 years of direct experience in investment-related roles and extensive knowledge of investment
CFA, FRM or comparable certification is a major asset
Advanced level of English language proficiency.
SKILLS:
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data as well as financial statements
Initiative to learn and take on tasks, self-starter with natural curiosity
Strong written and oral communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Solid understanding of investments products and financial concepts
Strong organization skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to multitask
