Le directeur assume la responsabilit\xc3\xa9 globale du d\xc3\xa9veloppement strat\xc3\xa9gique, de l\'ex\xc3\xa9cution et de la r\xc3\xa9alisation des objectifs tactiques des plans d\'Affaires m\xc3\xa9dicales pour les domaines th\xc3\xa9rapeutiques des m\xc3\xa9dicaments sp\xc3\xa9cialis\xc3\xa9s au Canada, conform\xc3\xa9ment aux objectifs strat\xc3\xa9giques globaux. En interne, le directeur participera activement \xc3\xa0 des \xc3\xa9quipes strat\xc3\xa9giques cl\xc3\xa9s pour fournir des conseils m\xc3\xa9dicaux/scientifiques d\'experts et une perspective technique aux fonctions de d\xc3\xa9veloppement commercial et de gestion de portefeuille dans l\'identification de partenariats potentiels et d\'opportunit\xc3\xa9s internes. Le titulaire partagera son expertise m\xc3\xa9dicale/scientifique avec ses homologues dans d\'autres domaines fonctionnels tels que l\'acc\xc3\xa8s/les politiques au march\xc3\xa9, l\'assurance qualit\xc3\xa9, les affaires r\xc3\xa9glementaires, la Recherche & D\xc3\xa9veloppement, les services juridiques et le marketing au Canada, ainsi qu\'avec l\'ensemble de l\'organisation mondiale.

Leadership scientifique : responsabilit\xc3\xa9 globale de l\'\xc3\xa9laboration, de la priorisation et de la mise en \xc5\x93uvre du Plan national des affaires m\xc3\xa9dicales pour les m\xc3\xa9dicaments sp\xc3\xa9cialis\xc3\xa9s qui comble les lacunes identifi\xc3\xa9es.
Interactions avec les affaires m\xc3\xa9dicales r\xc3\xa9gionales et mondiales pour plaider et influencer le soutien aux initiatives canadiennes au niveau r\xc3\xa9gional/mondial.
Interactions avec l\'Organisation mondiale des essais cliniques et l\'organisation des laboratoires de recherche de notre entreprise pour soutenir le portefeuille national d\'\xc3\xa9tudes et continuer \xc3\xa0 attirer des \xc3\xa9tudes de d\xc3\xa9veloppement clinique au Canada et des essais cliniques -Phase II-IV, locaux G\xc3\xa9n\xc3\xa9ration de donn\xc3\xa9es ou \xc3\xa9valuations cliniques et \xc3\xa9tudes initi\xc3\xa9es par les chercheurs.

Reporting to the Executive Director, Medical Affairs Canada, the Director, Medical Affairs \xe2\x80\x93 Specialty Medicines (\xe2\x80\x9cthe Director\xe2\x80\x9d) is primarily accountable for setting the overall strategic direction to the Specialty Medicines Team. Leading a group of Medical Advisors and Medical and Scientific Liaisons and working in concert with their commercial counterparts, the Director will provide expert strategic input in support of the objectives of the multiple therapeutic areas, such as Cardio Metabolic diseases, Respiratory, Immunology & Neuroscience.
The Director holds the overall accountability for the strategic development, execution and delivery of tactical objectives of Medical Affairs Plans for the Specialty Medicines Therapeutic Areas in Canada, in alignment with the overall strategic objectives. This will include tactical deliverables such as post-licensure studies, publication plans, and other knowledge transfer activities.
The Director should have a customer/patient focused approach, developing professional relationships with scientific leaders in various specialties and supporting efforts in key strategic areas. These interactions may also extend to regulatory bodies, medical societies, payer groups and patient association.
Internally, the Director will have an active participation in key strategic teams to provide expert medical/scientific advice and technical perspective to the Business Development and Portfolio Management functions in the identification of potential partnering and internal opportunities. The incumbent will share medical/scientific expertise with their counterparts in other functional areas such as Market Access/Policy, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Research & Development, Legal and Marketing in Canada, and as well throughout the global organization.
Core Responsibilities include:
Scientific leadership: Overall responsibility for the development, prioritization and delivery of the Specialty Medicines Country Medical Affairs Plan that addresses identified gaps.
Interactions with Regional and Global Medical Affairs to advocate & influence for support of Canadian initiatives at the regional/global level.
Interactions with Global Clinical Trials Organization and our Company\xe2\x80\x99s Research Laboratories Organization in support of country portfolio of studies and to continue to attract clinical development studies to Canada and Phase II-IV trials, Local Data Generation or Clinical Evaluations and Investigator-Initiated Studies.
Partner with the Specialty Medicines Business Unit, Patient Access/Policy Group to ensure the successful management of existing products and launches of new medicines/products.
You are the ideal candidate if you have:
M.D, Ph.D. or PharmD education (preferred MD degree)
Varied experience in either Cardio Metabolic Diseases, Immunology, Neurosciences, or Respiratory plus must have two years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in people management.
Strong knowledge of Clinical Development and/or Medical Affairs (in specialty areas) is required.
Experienced Medical Pharmaceutical Leader, with knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and the drug development process.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Advanced negotiation, presentation, and facilitation skills.
Strong people management and team leadership skills, as well as listening and coaching skills.
Strong ethics and integrity. Solid knowledge of Good Clinical Practices principles and of the Innovative Medicine Canada Code.
Ability to work in high performance teams, and in a matrix organization. Excellent team player; excel at teamwork in cross-functional groups.
Can rapidly build credible relationships and influence a broad range of stakeholders (Internally & externally).
