WASO is hiring! We are looking for people that are committed to providing high quality supports to adults diagnosed with a developmental or learning disability. WASO is a multi-faceted agency that provides a diverse range of supports to individuals that choose to receive service from one of our programs.

Support Staff for Diversity Works are responsible for:

Working closely with the Program Manager to plan and execute tasks, activities and programs on site and in the community.

Assessing the practical and employment skills and abilities of individuals that have joined the project.

Supervising and supporting individuals as they explore numerous types of employment in five career areas.

Providing transportation to site tours or other project related activities as required

Facilitating training opportunities to enhance each person's work readiness and employability

Modelling appropriate workplace behaviour to individuals they support at all times.

Communicating effectively with colleagues, the people WASO supports and their support networks.

Supporting individuals with a diverse range of barriers to employment

Requirements:

A minimum of two years experience providing supports to individuals (ideally in a day service environment)

Digital literacy skills, including Microsoft Office

A valid class 5F driver's license

Acceptable Criminal record, Adult Abuse and Child Abuse Registry checks

Access to a vehicle

Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position (sitting, standing, walking, lifting 50 pounds)
