The Manager of Digital Transformation will play a crucial role in driving digital transformation initiatives for our utility clients, providing them with innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency and grid reliability. As a Manager of Digital Transformation, you will be responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of strategic initiatives with respect to technologies that support the electric distribution and transmission system operations for various utility clients. You will demonstrate to EPE\xe2\x80\x99s utility clients, the expertise in advanced distribution management systems (ADMS); distributed energy resource management systems (DERMS); integration capabilities; automation opportunities; and other improvements to enhance utility client system capabilities with respect to real time system operations. As the Manager of Digital Transformation, you will report to the Director of Utility Digital Transformation and will be a part of the EPE leadership team who are highly engaged, driven and collaborative. In this role you will lead a team of data analysts, integration engineers, and GIS analysts working directly on utility client project implementation. The responsibilities include strategic planning, technical services, implementation support, and more. As a manager, you will work closely with the Director on business development activities for existing and future potential EPE utility clients, initiatives to develop strategic and operational plans, provide technical leadership and training, drive client management and sales, ensure high quality technical and service standards are maintained. In addition to technical expertise, candidates who are effective communicators, relationship builders, organized, agile, and adaptable will be successful in this role.



How you can make an impact :

  • Lead and support the business development efforts related to utility digital transformation, including evaluating client opportunities, preparing work scopes, responding to requests for proposals, identifying strategic areas of focus, identifying new opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and fostering client relationships.
  • Support proposal development and review of all Digital Transformation pursuits including "go/ no-go" decisions, win strategies, proposal staffing, development of pricing, contract terms and conditions, and risk-reviews.
  • Lead the creation and oversight of one or multiple programs for Digital transformation business unit, orchestrating program strategies, marketing, and recruitment strategies, and conducting resource planning and projection.
  • Manage a team of employees consisting of engineers, analysts, and GIS specialists, providing them with guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure their professional growth and development.
  • Oversee the implementation and integration of OT solutions like ADMS and DERMS systems for utility clients, with different vendors like OSI, GE, Schneider, and other relevant vender platforms.
  • Provide an oversight in system/technology selection discussions, solution development, data validation, integration/interoperability, and process mapping.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to utility digital transformation, and provide recommendations for incorporating them into our organization\'s strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within and outside the organization to define project requirements, develop implementation plans, and ensure successful execution of digital transformation initiatives.
  • Monitor and contribute to BU budget planning and team financials, including projects, training, resources forecasting, software maintenance and so on.
  • Perform human resources functions including developing and executing resourcing strategies, personnel hiring, performance management, employee development, and succession planning.
  • Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with peers and stakeholders across the company and the clients.
  • Serve as trusted advisor to other leaders to develop a clear understanding of business needs for Digital Transformation tools.
  • Take responsibility for the timely completion of projects assigned while meeting all project quality and budget objectives.


Qualifications:
Bring your passion, here what\xe2\x80\x99s needed:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in electrical engineering, computer Science, or a related discipline with 7+ years of relevant experience. A master\'s degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience in digital transformation projects within the power systems industry, preferably within the utility environment. Prior experience in consulting or advisory roles is highly desirable.
  • A thorough understanding of industry regulations and standards, such as NERC, FERC, and IEEE, and the ability to ensure compliance is a strong advantage.
  • Proven experience in leading Utility IT/OT integration and transformation. Deep expertise in advanced utility OT solutions, particularly in the domain of Distributed Energy Resources
  • Management Systems (DERMS) and Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS) integration. A thorough understanding of functionalities, integration, and best practices for different vendors OSI, GE, Schneider, SGS, and other similar platforms.
  • Familiarity to GIS tools and CIM data models is preferred.
  • Familiarity with technologies like Azure, AWS, Big data, Data integration and ETL tools, ML and AI frameworks, networking and communication tools is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with digital process mapping, use case development, and change management techniques to drive digital transformation and process improvements in the power systems industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, identify patterns, and develop data-driven insights.
  • The capability to build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring client satisfaction and repeat business. Excellent networking skills to build a robust professional network, establish partnerships, and identify business opportunities.
  • The aptitude to think creatively and propose innovative solutions towards utility digital transformation and drive growth.
  • The ability to develop and execute strategic plans to drive business growth, enter new markets, or diversify revenue streams.
  • Proven experience in business development, preferably within the utility industry, with a track record of successfully identifying and securing new opportunities.
  • Leadership experience in program or project design and delivery is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to a cross-disciplinary audience, both in writing and in presentation skills.
  • Proven previous experience in management roles is preferred.

Location
: This position is open to Remote or Hybrid (Office space may be available if located near Austin, TX or Champaign, IL)
Travel: Occasional travel may be needed (25% or less)
