Competition # : 42711Department: JusticeLocation: HALIFAXType of Employment: TermUnion Status: Exclusion - Non Union - NSPGClosing Date: 11-Jun-24 (Applications are accepted until 11:59 PM Atlantic Time)About UsThe Court Services Division of the Nova Scotia Department of Justice is dedicated to excellent service and the provision of fair and accessible administration of justice.The Division provides technical and administrative support to the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal, Supreme Court of Nova Scotia (General and Family Divisions), Provincial Court, Small Claims Court, Probate Court, and Bankruptcy Court.For more information on the Department of Justice Court Services please visit our website:About Our OpportunityThe Manager Digital Transformation is accountable for the management of the Court Services\' digital transformation plan, and is responsible for leading, promoting and supporting effective policy analysis, evaluation, and implementation of the digital transformation plan.The Manager is responsible for coordinating and progressing the administration of the courts to become increasingly "digital\' by applying the culture, processes, business models and technologies of the internet era.The Manager will work collaboratively in modernizing how we design and deliver court services to Nova Scotians, and the systems and infrastructure that underpin those services.The RoleThe Manager will work collaboratively with Court Services Management team, Cyber Security and Digital Solutions Division managers and staff (i.e., Director Digital Justice Strategy and Products, Manager of Business Solutions), External third-party service providers and others.Specific roles include:

  • Coordinating initiatives that use agile, data-driven, and digital solutions to integrate digital technology into the administration of court services.
  • Coordinating implementation, on a prioritized basis, of the Court Service\'s digital transformation plan.
  • Staying informed of cross-jurisdictional and private sector digital transformation initiatives and identifies opportunities to improve court operations through technology advancements and recommends digital service solutions to Senior Departmental Management.
  • Coordinating and collaborating with developers, designers, marketers, and other staff members to develop new and innovative digital solutions for the administration of the courts; and
  • Assisting in the development the strategic plan for the life cycling of Justice Application Systems which support court operations.
About YouThe successful candidate will posses a bachelor\'s degree in a related field plus several years of progressive management experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.Candidate assets include an excellent understanding of:
  • project and change management;
  • technical integrated, client centric program/service model development and delivery; and
  • knowledge of the court system.
