Digital Specialist, Content Editor

This role is responsible for researching, curating, proofreading, publishing and distributing both traditional and online content for London Drugs. Working in conjunction with the Assistant Digital Marketing Manager and Digital Marketing Manager, this position will be responsible for analyzing audience data, crafting content strategies to increase engagement and awareness of London Drugs? offerings and unique propositions. Ultimately, this position will produce engaging quality content that speaks to our audience and boosts engagement and market relevancy for our brand.

The successful candidate should possess the following:

  • Minimum 2 years of proven work experience as a Content Editor, web editor, or similar role, ideally in the capacity of a Marketing department. Retail experience is considered an asset.
  • A Portfolio of published work.
  • Hands-on experience with content management systems.
  • Established experience in content strategy, including execution and measurement of campaigns and communications.
  • Knowledgeable about new and emerging social media platforms and other traditional and digital content channels outside of social such as branded content.
  • Established in communicating or establishing related industry benchmarks and following industry best practices.
  • Experience building online communities and working with influencers is considered an asset.
  • Ability to extract actionable insights from analytics.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills (Excel, Word).
  • Basic knowledge of WordPress to post blogs and make minor changes.
  • Experience with SCORM packages and Moodle platform is an asset.
Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):
  • Supports a broader view of how the content fits into the holistic marketing and content strategy.
  • Manage day to day content support for London Drugs, including products, services, unique propositions, and corporate social responsibilities stories.
  • Responsible for the execution of content creator/influencer content, from briefing process through to post-campaign reporting and measurement.
  • Monthly reporting cadence of content results and additional reporting as required.
  • In conjunction with Digital Content Specialists, Shopper Marketing team, and Marketing Management, prepare and manage the content calendar to make sure regular content is published on owned channels, including social media platforms, emails, website(s), and on external customer facing channels.
  • Proofread and edit work of content writers, content specialists, and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Act as content conductor, planning the right placement and timing for owned or channels.
  • Support content briefings and execution of external content briefings for branded content channels.
  • Work in conjunction with agency partner in the areas of public relations, digital media, traditional media, strategy and creative.
  • Responsible for various aspects of paid digital marketing ? briefing, strategy development, execution, optimization, and post campaign reporting.
  • Experience developing, managing, and executing customer advocacy and fan groups.
  • Writing copy, and experience storytelling for retail brands, products, and services.
  • Set-up and execute paid social campaigns internally, on channels including, but not limited to Meta, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Snapchat, TikTok.
  • Curating and managing content creator network; either through partner agencies, and/or through owned content creator-based platforms and services.
  • Support other areas of the digital marketing department, including emails, organic social, and monitoring, as required.
  • Stay relevant with trends and resources in social media, web technologies, and digital marketing.
