Established in 2019 as a business unit of Information Technology Services, key areas of focus for Digital Solutions include (1) communication & collaboration; (2) emerging technologies (artificial intelligence & machine learning, digital identification & payment systems, virtual & augmented reality, virtual digital assistants, etc.); (3) hosting & infrastructure; (4) network access & threat protection; (5) personal computing & mobility; and (6) surveillance & security systems. The team also enables research in the Barrett Centre for Technology Innovation. In summary, Digital Solutionsxe2x80x99 mandate is to pursue solutions that make peoplexe2x80x99s lives better!About the Digital Solutions Engineer Role:Digital Solutions Engineers build and integrate information and computer systems that meet specific business needs. This typically involves integrating software and hardware that will best meet the purpose defined by a customer. Key areas of focus for Digital Solutions Engineers include: (1) how technology can be used to solve a given business problem; (2) which framework, platform, or tech-stack can be used to create a solution; (3) how a solution will look, what the modules will be, and how they will interact with each other; (4) how things will scale for the future and how they will be maintained; (5) figuring out the risk in third-party frameworks/platforms; and (6) finding a solution to a business problem. Digital Solution Engineers also examine the architecture of existing systems and work with appropriate stakeholders and other technical resources to recommend solutions that result in outcomes that are more effective.QualificationsAbout You:
