Our strategies aim to improve patient health outcomes and experience with our therapeutics and trials by leveraging innovative digital technology to collect novel and/or better data and apply advanced analytics to inform more robust evidence. Our digital solutions might be implemented in clinical research or real world clinical settings to support both patients and their healthcare providers towards better care and improved outcomes.

This role is accountable for delivering science-led evidence-driven innovation opportunities to transform the experience of our customers including patients, care-partners, and clinical teams in receiving or providing health care and generating evidence to support decision-making. For instance, opportunities could refer to:

1) identifying and bridging the knowledge and insight gaps needed to support evidence generation to inform clinical benefit, tolerability or overall quality of care of therapeutics, including medical devices,

2) leading the content development of fit-for-purpose digital solutions to enable remote monitoring of patients as part of trial optimization and decentralization,

3) identifying digital tools as an aid for clinical decision support such as dose selection, or

4) using digital enabled biomarkers to inform novel endpoints. In addition, with miniaturization and consumerism of medical devices, opportunities could include defining and accurately validating procedures to ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of the devices to be self-administered to support decentralization of evidence generation and to ensure patient safety.

The role is responsible for fostering multi-disciplinary exchange of information and goal practices, ideas and research towards solution creation. The role must build and maintain effective partnerships with internal collaborators (e.g. Human-Centric AI, COA Measurement, Design, Product, Implementation, IT) including Global and Clinical Study Teams, and external vendors and partners in order to uphold patient-centricity, diversity and sustainability values and scientific rigor trough all steps and phases of a solution\xe2\x80\x99s lifecycle.

Typical Accountabilities:

Plan and conduct relevant research (e.g., literature reviews to enable a better understanding of relevant drug toxicity areas, published patient guidance for symptom management, formative research to better understand patient behaviour) to enable digital solution content development

Drive digital solution content creation aligned with customer centricity, diversity, overall sustainability, agile and science-driven decision-making practices

Drive user research, in collaboration with internal partners or external vendors, and support the seamless incorporation of risk minimization and behavioural insights in the development of digital solutions

Define metrics for digital solution engagement and collaborate with Product and Data Science teams to enable analyses

Maintain and contribute knowledge of the digital healthcare landscape and incorporate relevant trends into digital health solution requirements when doing so improves the user experience

Disseminate methodology and outcomes of transformational solutions through internal and external communication, including conference participation and peer-review publications

Essential:

Advanced degree required with a strong qualitative or quantitative background (Master\xe2\x80\x99s or above in Public Health, Epidemiology, Pharmaceutical, Medical or related fields),

Extensive knowledge and mastery of digital health content development

Experienced in the design, implementation, analyses, and value generation of quantitative evidence

Able to synthesize complex research findings, review with a critical eye, and communicate practical implications to non-technical audiences

Passion for finding innovative ways to apply research findings to complex, real-world contexts

Able to build collaborative and strategic relationships among partners and stakeholders

Highly efficient: able to navigate ambiguity and solve problems in a fast-paced environment; able to influence without authority

Understanding of the regulatory landscape governing research with human subjects

Strong communication skills

Desirable:

Experience with clinical outcomes assessments to support evidence generation including development, validation, implementation or interpretation.

Expertise in how and why people make decisions and applying this knowledge to guide teams in improving user\xe2\x80\x99s experience in clinical settings

Experience with Human Factors testing, behavioral and/or social science projects to inform risk assessment and solution evaluation of digital solution including software as a medical device

Experience with systems design; can interpret the moving pieces in a complex system and identify high-impact opportunities for intervention

Experience in pharmaceutical industry with understanding of drug development process
