The
Digital Operations Architect
reports directly to the COO and is responsible for designing and implementing internal tools and automation systems within Dynamics 365 Business Central that streamline business operations, increase efficiency, and improve data visibility. The ideal candidate for this role will work across departments--production, packaging, inventory, quality--collaborating directly with users to design and deliver internal systems that actually get used. If you're energized by continuous improvement and love building tools that make people's work easier, this role is for you.
Role and Responsibilities
Build Dashboards that Matter: Develop and maintain Power BI reports that bring visibility to our operations--production performance, material readiness, order status, and more.
Automate Real-World Workflows: Use Power Automate to streamline routine processes, reduce handoffs, and sync data between tools so teams can stay focused.
Design Lightweight, High-Impact Apps: Build Power Apps to replace paper forms and Excel files--things like run logs, issue tracking, and material usage forms.
Improve How Data Flows Through the Business: Work closely with team leads to align planning, inventory, and production data in ways that improve coordination and reduce surprises.
Prototype, Test, and Refine: Don't just drop tools on people--work with them. Test what you build, improve it based on feedback, and ensure it gets adopted.
Document and Support: Provide clear instructions, training, and ongoing support to make sure what you build becomes part of how we work.
Integrate with External Systems and APIs: Build automations and flows that connect internal processes to external systems--like carriers, customers, and suppliers. This could include automating shipping label generation, PDF parsing, or triggering real-time customer updates.
Automate Document and Label Generation: Streamline operational tasks by auto-generating shipping documentation (e.g., pallet placards, bills of lading, packing slips) and printing product or case labels as part of batch workflows.
Develop Digital Batch Records: Replace paper batch production records with structured digital forms. Add validation logic, signature capture, and data reconciliation for accurate recordkeeping and traceability.
Use OCR and AI for Data Extraction: Leverage OCR tools or AI Builders to extract data from Certificates of Analysis and other PDFs--auto-filling internal documents and flagging discrepancies for QA review.
System Hardening & SOP Development: Finalize and stabilize tools, ensuring error handling, performance, and documentation are in place. Work closely with operational leads to integrate tools into daily SOPs and identify opportunities for future enhancements.
