Position Overview
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is seeking an experienced and innovative Principal Digital Engineering Architect to define and deliver the digital engineering vision across OPG's full asset lifecycle.
This is a senior technical leadership role responsible for designing and integrating advanced engineering technologies -- including PLM, CAD, BIM, GIS, IoT, and Digital Twins -- to enhance collaboration, efficiency, and data-driven decision-making across engineering, construction, commissioning, and operations.
As a key contributor to OPG's Strategic Transformation Roadmap (STR), you will collaborate with Engineering, IT, Project Management, and EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) partners to drive enterprise-level innovation and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Engineering Strategy & Architecture
Define and evolve OPG's digital engineering enterprise architecture, integrating PLM, CAD, BIM, GIS, IoT, and Digital Twin technologies.
Lead the selection, implementation, and optimization of engineering systems (e.g., Teamcenter, SAP PLM, Autodesk, Bentley, Aveva, Hexagon, ESRI).
Architect scalable solutions connecting design, construction, commissioning, and operations data for full lifecycle asset visibility.
Establish data models, standards, and governance frameworks to ensure quality, integrity, and regulatory compliance.
Promote model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and visualization technologies (3D, 4D, 5D) to support integrated digital delivery.
Solution Delivery & Process Optimization
Translate complex engineering and business requirements into cohesive digital solutions that improve project performance and asset management.
Partner with EPCs and internal stakeholders to streamline workflows, reduce rework, and accelerate delivery timelines.
Ensure alignment of digital engineering solutions with OPG's cybersecurity, data governance, and IT standards.
Participate in agile delivery processes, supporting sprint planning, prioritization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
Act as the subject matter expert and advisor for digital engineering integration across OPG's enterprise.
Lead workshops, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing initiatives to strengthen organizational capability and adoption.
Build and maintain strong relationships with engineering, IT, project delivery, and operations teams, ensuring alignment on digital transformation priorities.
Represent OPG in external forums and industry groups to share best practices and remain at the forefront of technological advancements.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Evaluate and implement emerging technologies and methodologies to enhance OPG's digital engineering maturity.
Champion process improvements and scalable architecture frameworks that support long-term business transformation.
Mentor and develop internal talent, fostering an agile, innovative, and future-ready engineering environment.

Strong understanding of engineering lifecycle management, PLM, BIM, CAD, GIS, IoT, and digital twin integration.
Hands-on experience with leading platforms such as Teamcenter, SAP PLM, Aveva, Autodesk, Bentley, Hexagon, and ESRI.
Skilled in agile delivery, change management, and cross-functional stakeholder engagement.
