Job Summary

New Media Manitoba is seeking a Digital Media Coordinator and Youth Ambassador responsible for developing and distributing digital communications to subscribers and the broader IDM community and for coordinating and supporting youth engagement initiatives. The ideal candidate is passionate about building strong communities through social media and other communication platforms and training and mentoring youth considering careers in the interactive digital media sector.

Key Responsibilities

provides member and community (client) services producing NMM newsletters, administering social media accounts, and other communications; includes graphic design and written content (copy). participates in youth engagement events such as career fairs, information sessions and training and mentorship activities develops and maintains NMM brand manual, and document templates takes leadership in booking, promoting and delivering the Girls in Gaming program and other youth programming to engage young adults and students with the interactive digital media industry (workforce development) prepares and provides presentations at youth meet-ups and events participates in NMM team meetings and collaborates on projects requiring collateral relating to communications platforms and practices (e.g. web-site development, brand guideline maintenance, video footage) develops IDM curriculum and workshops for in-class and community instruction and supports NMM instructors as required. supporting members and businesses in use of NMM's career portal Other duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications:

A related diploma or certificate, and 2-3 years of relevant experience Technical skills in game design Skilled in graphic design, digital media marketing and web-site content updates Strong customer service skills required Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to articulate effectively and professionally with diverse groups Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational and time management abilities Adept at balancing and prioritizing concurrent tasks and projects Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to respond to a wide variety of issues and deal with unclear situations and conflicting demands, and to seek leadership direction and support with priority setting when needed Proficient working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software, data management, social media platforms, and other software applications that facilitate project and organizational administration Fluent French speaking skills would be an asset
