Join the Fredericton Capital Region Tourism team and help shape the narrative of one of Atlantic Canada's vibrant destinations. Reporting to the Senior Marketing Lead, the successful applicant will be responsible for promoting, selling, and positioning the Fredericton Capital Region as a premier tourism destination. Serving as the lead for all digital marketing and social media initiatives, this role will oversee content development, blog creation, influencer partnerships, and website management. The successful candidate will champion innovative digital strategies, staying ahead of emerging technologies, to enhance engagement and reach. Working closely with tourism industry partners, the successful applicant will play a pivotal role in attracting visitors to Fredericton. Strong multitasking abilities, exceptional attention to detail, and the capacity to work both collaboratively and independently are essential for success.
Qualification Requirements
Post-secondary degree or diploma in marketing, business administration, tourism, or a related field
Minimum of five (5) years' experience as a lead social media content creator with a proven track record in large-scale digital campaigns.
Experience in tourism marketing, sales, or promotions, with an understanding of tourism-based customer service.
Strong knowledge of major social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, and other media platforms, SEO, web traffic analytics, and performance KPIs.
Demonstrated experience in digital marketing, content strategy, press release writing, and media relations.
What You Will Do:
Support the planning, execution, and optimization of digital and social media strategies to promote the Fredericton Capital Region.
Lead the creation and management of compelling content for owned and paid channels, ensuring brand alignment and audience engagement.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with influencers and explore innovative partnerships to increase reach and impact.
Manage website development, updates, and performance, ensuring content is current and optimized for SEO.
Produce long- and short-form copy for digital platforms, including web pages, blogs, and ad creative.
Proofread copy to maintain quality and consistency.
Monitor and analyze performance metrics to optimize campaigns and improve results.
Identify, coordinate, and support tourism initiatives in collaboration with industry stakeholders.
Stay informed on emerging digital marketing trends, tools, and best practices.
Perform related duties as assigned, with the flexibility to adapt to evolving priorities within the Tourism Division.
A strong interest in understanding marketing trends, including AI, emerging tools, best practices, and optimization strategies.
What You Will Bring:
Bilingualism (English and French) is considered a strong asset.
Experience in event planning and execution is considered an asset; supervisory experience is an advantage.
