Position Status: Full-Time

Salary: $43,800 \xe2\x80\x93 $59,200 per year

Start Date: February 2024

The Opportunity

This position provides support to the Communications Department in the planning, developing, and execution of content creation for our YMCA. The Digital Engagement Coordinator is an organized, digital savvy communicator, with experience in web design and knowledge of WordPress content management systems. You will strengthen the YMCA\xe2\x80\x99s online presence by creating engaging content and optimizing digital platforms including the YMCA website, social media channels, and our digital advertising. With support from the Director of Strategic Communications, the Digital Engagement Coordinator will create and implement a digital advertising strategy in support of our membership promotion and program targets. They will develop and execute a social media strategy with a focus on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI). You will be working with a small team to conceptualize and implement communication strategies and digital campaigns.

Responsibilities

\xc2\xb7 Website development, content creation and management

\xc2\xb7 Utilize analytics, create social media strategies, and modify them as required, to improve engagement metrics

\xc2\xb7 Write web content, source, and edit images, make changes to website, and manage SEO in consultation with Director of Strategic Communications

\xc2\xb7 Create and implement digital ads for membership and program promotion

\xc2\xb7 Cultivate and nurture positive connections with participants, community members, staff, and volunteers by fostering a culture of open and constructive internal/external communications, ensuring prompt and responsive handling of inquiries and requests

\xc2\xb7 Serve as the main point of contact for inquiries through social media platforms, ensuring timely, professional, and accurate responsiveness

\xc2\xb7 Navigate and deliver on multiple departments requests with competing deadlines, including promotional materials

\xc2\xb7 Create and maintain content calendars

\xc2\xb7 Ensure all content is properly Y branded and language is reflective of the YMCA brand

\xc2\xb7 Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

\xc2\xb7 Post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, or related field

\xc2\xb7 2+ years in a similar role preferred, however, new grads will be considered

\xc2\xb7 Understand the best practices of main social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn etc.

\xc2\xb7 Understanding of paid social media

\xc2\xb7 CSS, HTML, and JavaScript skills

\xc2\xb7 SEO skills

\xc2\xb7 Strong communicator who works well independently and with a team

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, WordPress, and Illustrator is considered an asset

\xc2\xb7 Superior time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
