Position: Digital Content & Community Specialist (1 Year Contract)
Job Overview:
Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, Content, the Digital Content & Community Specialist is an integral member of the marketing communications team, will develop engaging content and manage online communities to build brand awareness, foster engagement, and drive business goals. They create and optimize content for various digitally owned properties, monitor community discussions, engage with users, and analyze data to inform strategies. This role collaborates with members of the marketing, operations and merchandising teams along with vendor & agency partners in planning, producing and posting content to our social channels drive engagement and growth across social media platforms.
Accountabilities:
Content Creation, Curation and Publishing

  • Lead initiatives through full production lifecycle including strategy, planning, production & delivery of creative assets, distribution of proofing rounds and execution of content while maintaining deadlines.
  • Produce and edit high-quality short and long-form videos and photo content for various social media channels. In addition to repurposing long-form content (site tours, interviews, in-store and community events etc.) into engaging micro-content for multiple platforms.
  • Create eye-catching graphics, captions and post copy that align with brand voice, messaging and style guidelines.
  • Stay abreast of content trends and hashtags and experiment with new formats and styles to drive impressions and engagement.
  • Execute content curation and coordination of photo/video shoots needed for social media.
  • Ensure all day-to-day activities & projects run smoothly and on schedule from start to finish.
  • Support the development and execution targeted campaigns across digital platforms for existing, lapsed or new Guests.
  • Work in collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Merchandising, Private Brands, Public Relations and Operations to share insights and improve strategies.
  • Ongoing opportunities to lead and collaborate with vendor partners as it pertains to paid partnerships.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned
Social Media Management
  • Independently own the social content calendar, ensuring a steady stream of engaging and strategic posts that align with overarching brand strategy and marketing campaigns.
  • Post, schedule and optimize content across owned social platforms with strict adherence to stipulated deadlines.
  • Plan/Brief and create paid social media campaigns in collaboration with external agencies and influencers.
  • Monitor and report on post performance, community sentiment and feedback, as well as identifying emerging trends and opportunities to refine content strategy based on insights.
  • Lead social listening including researching competitors, content strategy best practices and sentiment to make informed recommendations.
  • Work closely with the Senior Marketing Manager, Content to maintain an authentic and consistent brand presence.
Community Engagement & Growth
  • Manage online communities by proactively monitoring and engaging with followers, including responding to comments/questions, DMs, and mentions in real-time to improve response times, and foster strong relationships with users to maintain brand trust.
  • Spark/Initiate and participate in relevant industry conversations to expand brand reach.
  • Identify and collaborate with influencers, partners, and key industry voices.
  • Collaborate with Guest Care to enhance engagement best practices.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
  • Bachelor's degree required in marketing, communications or related creative field.
  • Preferred: Coursework or certifications in social media marketing or community management.
  • 5+ years' experience leading & executing digital/social content strategy
  • Experience in high-performing content creation with advanced video/photo editing skills - including styled and lifestyle photography - as well as creating composite graphics. (Portfolio submission considered an asset)
  • Photography/Video lighting knowledge is a bonus
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills for captions, posts, and community engagement with meticulous attention to grammar and spelling.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including interviewing & relationship building
  • Experience with social management platforms and analytics tools. (Sprout Social, Meta Business Suite, TikTok Business Centre)
  • Proven experience overseeing online communities with sound understanding of social media algorithms, trends, and digital media performance measurement and optimization (SEO, CPC, Engagement, etc.) particularly on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
  • Self-starter with a deep passion and understanding of modern storytelling - both visual and written - with an ability to communicate concise brand messages that engage audiences.
  • Advanced knowledge in creative and video editing software (primarily Adobe Premiere Pro, and other Adobe Creative Suite programs).
  • Reliable transportation required.
