Join the Grande Prairie Bariatric Program as a Virtual Bariatric Dietitian and play a vital role in adult weight management through personalized, evidence-based nutrition care delivered remotely. Reporting to the Manager of Nutrition Services and Chronic Disease Management, you will conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments, develop and implement tailored care plans, and evaluate client outcomes to support lasting health improvements. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, translating the latest nutrition research into clear, practical guidance for patients, healthcare professionals, and the wider community. Using nutrition counseling and behavioral change strategies, you will empower clients to achieve their health goals and provide nutrition education and training to staff and stakeholders to maintain consistent, accurate information. This role requires a registered dietitian with experience in adult weight management or bariatric care, excellent virtual communication skills, and the ability to work independently while fostering collaboration. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
Description:
As a Dietitian I, you may provide nutrition expertise to patients (clients, residents) in various AHS facilities and community settings to achieve nutrition and health outcomes. You may be responsible for nutrition assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of nutrition care plans. You may plan and provide public health nutrition services and education programs to promote healthy living and disease prevention for clients/groups in facilities or community settings. Nutrition education is provided to students and other healthcare professionals to support delivery of evidence based nutrition information.
