ABOUT THE ROLE

Aurora Eye Care is looking for an enthusiastic individual to fill a full-time role within the clinic, functioning as a Diagnostic Technician. We are seeking an individual who is passionate about delivering exemplary patient care and possesses a strong work ethic to join our team of dedicated professionals.

As a Diagnostic Technician, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic procedures and retinal imaging according to the standard practices of the clinic. Additionally, the Technician will be responsible for assisting patients during contact lens trainings, advanced diagnostic screenings and preparing examination rooms for the optometrists. In the role you will be required demonstrate the ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment while remaining composed and professionally manage the flow and care of the patient's procedures as it pertains to the Diagnostic department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Greet patients in a friendly and welcoming manner. Build rapport with patient while providing direction and information as required to patients prior to eye exam. Maintain efficient patient flow through pre-screen area and exam rooms. Accurately perform patient diagnostic procedures and pre-exam testing as required. Efficiently and accurately document all pertinent information in patient records and database. Prepare examination rooms including calibration and sterilization of all equipment. Handoff patients to doctors after diagnostic procedures and pre-testing. Maintain a clean and organized work environment within the department (tech station and diagnostic testing rooms). Maintain pre-test and exam room supply as needed. Take accurate information from outbound calls (recalls/follow up calls) Effectively process patient appointment bookings Update electronic records, perform other clerical tasks as assigned by the Department Lead.

POSITION DETAILS:

35-40 hours per week Clinic hours - Monday-Thursday-Friday 9:00am-5:30pm - Tuesday-Wednesday - 8:00am-8:00pm Position does require periods of standing while working with patients.
Prior diagnostic testing experience is not required to apply for this position, a willingness to learn and be coached within the position is a must.
