Key Responsibilities
Provide
1:1 full-day support
in a calm, structured, home-based learning environment
Implement a personalized daily program combining:
Gentle
movement and motor skill activities
Sensory regulation and mindfulness
exercises
Creative, hands-on learning
that supports gifted intellectual development
Support the child's
emotional growth and resilience
using trauma-informed strategies
Model
positivity, punctuality, and calm confidence
throughout each day
Collaborate closely with the parent and therapeutic team (OT, PT, psychologist, etc.)
Participate in
community-based activities
(e.g., swimming, nature walks, adaptive recreation)
Maintain daily documentation and open, professional communication
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
Post-secondary education or extensive experience in one or more of:
Child development, psychology, special education, occupational/physiotherapy assistance, or therapeutic recreation
Direct experience
supporting children with
emotional, developmental, or trauma-related needs
Excellent references
from previous families, supervisors, or professionals
Naturally
positive, patient, and encouraging
demeanor
Punctual, reliable, and organized
-- consistency is essential
Current
CPR/First Aid certification
Clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
(required before start)
Must be comfortable around a small old dog.

Experience supporting

Comfortable participating in
active or outdoor learning experiences
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
