(ZLMI), a subsidiary of Z'gamok Enterprises Inc., an Indigenous business fully owned by Sagamok Anishnawbek, provides a diverse range of services across multiple business segments including: underground and surface construction, shaft sinking, maintenance and development mining.
Z'gamok Legend Mining Inc. (ZLMI) is recruiting a hard-working, self-motivated individual with a proven record of safety and reliability to fill the position of Development Supervisor.
The Development Supervisor will be responsible for mentoring team members in ensuring effective planning, meeting specific project goals and providing high quality safe work for various developmental underground projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
Monitoring employee productivity and providing constructive feedback and coaching.
Organizing workflow and ensuring that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks.
Setting goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with company's plans and vision and communicating them to subordinates.
Inspecting complete work and initiating timely resolutions.
Identifying needs and deficiencies in the plan/schedule and communicating these to the appropriate persons
Identifying and/or verifying that all tools and materials required by the crew are available and complete
Conducting "safety toolbox" meetings.
Setting and maintaining work standards and outlining behavorial expectations to ensure positive crew morale and productivity.
Participating in safety incidents investigations and reviews.
Overseeing recruitment, on-boarding, development, retention, and discipline of staff in accordance with company policies.
Assessing competency and capability of crew; completing performance evaluations.
Working with the crew to overcome work challenges.
Providing feedback on site procedures, policies and work control documents.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must have a minimum of 5 years underground development supervisor experience
Must have Common Core for Generic First Line Supervisor Program #770141
Strong understanding of the IRS System for reporting considered an asset.
Ability to read and understand mine prints
Knowing, understanding, communicating and ensuring compliance with the safety regulations (Occupational Health and Safety Act) and safety policies and procedures.
Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
Understand and use the 5-Point Safety system and understand the SLAM System of Safety
