Development Events Coordinator (permanent Full Time)

Job Description


This position will solicit goods and services for Siloam Mission by building relationships with individuals and the business community. They will coordinate corporate fundraising and in-house events. They will work together with the Development Manager to ensure revenue targets are met. The Development Events Coordinator will assist with all third-party events and will ensure they reflect Siloam\xe2\x80\x99s brand. The incumbent will ensure the tracking and recording of all Gift In-Kind donations is done correctly and in a timely manner. They will be responsible for thanking all Gift In-Kind donors and arranging for tax receipts when required. The incumbent is expected to facilitate volunteers whenever possible in the performance of their duties. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES \xc2\xb7 Build and nurture positive business relationships with current and potential partners for the purposes of fund development and to elevate the profile of the Siloam in the community;

  • Look for Gift In-Kind prospects to assist other departments\xe2\x80\x99 needs and wishes;
  • Responsible for coordinating Siloam\xe2\x80\x99s corporate, fundraising and in-house events
  • Ensure donors are recognized appropriately in accordance with the Gift In-Kind Donor Engagement & Recognition Plan;
  • Track, acknowledge, record and recognize Gift In-Kind gifts whether they come in through reception, shipping & receiving, drop in centre or from any other area in Siloam;
  • Ensure the value of Gifts In-Kind and solicitations is recorded properly and update donors\xe2\x80\x99 profiles;
  • Ensure that tax receipts are issued when appropriate;
  • Keep and update an Urgent Needs list for Siloam;
  • Work with the Community Education Coordinator, Communications and Volunteer Services to ensure schools and business groups are aware of our urgent needs;
  • Engages donors wherever possible to come for tours and meet and greets with Siloam\xe2\x80\x99s executives;
  • Assist with tours of businesses and individuals that come to volunteer and highlight the needs of Siloam to them which includes both Gift In-Kind and financial support;
  • Create opportunity for executive members to go on site visits to donor businesses as opportunities present themselves;
  • Grow peer-to-peer fundraising and third-party fundraising;
  • Work with the Manager of Donor & Corporate Relations to determine the level of support/assistance third party events should receive based on their monetary or relational value;
  • Ensure all Siloam Mission\xe2\x80\x99s Signature events and larger third-party events are communicated effectively both internally and externally in order to maximize their return;
  • Develop and implement a measurement system in order to evaluate the benefit of these Siloam\xe2\x80\x99s events;
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • At least 2-3 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in fundraising, special event planning, public relations and project management
  • Must have a valid 5F driver\xe2\x80\x99s license, a reliable vehicle and the ability to travel
  • Experience working with volunteers in a non-profit organization is ideal

WORKING CONDITION \xc2\xb7 Hours of work: Monday-Friday, 8:00 \xe2\x80\x93 4:30 pm with occasional evenings and weekends;
  • Office environment;
  • Frequent off-site events;
