Development Control Technician

Reporting to the Director of Planning and Development, the

Development Control Technician

assists the Development Officer in administering the land use and subdivision by-laws as provided by the Municipal Government Act, as well as responding to inquiries related to zoning, subdivision and property information, interpreting the by-laws and planning and development matters in general.

What we're looking for:



Two years of post-secondary education in planning or related field or equivalent experience in a similar role General knowledge of principles of planning, building, and/or engineering General knowledge of land use legislation including the Municipal Government Act and familiarity with Land Use By-laws Intermediate to advanced computer skills and knowledge of desktop software, in particular Microsoft Office, excel. Experience with permitting software, especially TownSuite Municipal Software, would be considered an asset Nova Scotia Class 5 Driver's License, access to a reliable vehicle.
