Story Behind the Need:

• Additional Support needed on the team.
• Business group: Internal Control has a responsibility to monitor utilization against federal and exchange-specific position limits and ensure that the Bank does not exceed any of the established position limits.
• Project: The client trades commodity futures on US based futures exchanges and bilateral commodity swaps with its clients in the Energy business. The CFTC's rule for the elimination of previously-granted risk management exemptions and the implementations of Federal position limits for economically equivalent OTC swaps contracts goes live January 2023.
• The project will be to develop and document requirements and implement a Power BI tool that will use:

o Position and risk data from the trade capture system
o Static data for position limits, calendar dates and Commodity contract specifications
o Mapping data for futures and economically equivalent swaps contracts
o To calculate limit utilization and create aggregated paginated reports in Power BI which will be distributed to key stakeholders via e-mail based subscription for limit monitoring.

Typical Day in Role:

• The candidate will be extensively working on Power BI Report Builder and DataFlows for the development of a centralized techno-functional team
• As a Power BI Dev, candidates should be able to understand business requirements and translate them into technical features within Power BI dashboards
• This individual will develop queries and consume data from various data sources and actively use necessary data transformation techniques to convert raw data to clean usable data
• Demonstrate knowledge of Power BI Report Builder / Platform and command of data with team members
• Candidates should be technically savvy and have a high level understanding of various data sources and data streams as they will be facilitating the process of creating ETL pipelines for Power BI consumption.
• The ability to both, develop and project manage are essential to the success of this position
• Candidates are expected to demonstrate their knowledge of Power BI / Platform and command of data with team members
• Working with business and technology stakeholders to create wireframes, PoCs, and test solution
• Dealing with Internal Control Team as well as supervisors for GBM businesses - to a certain extent potentially also stakeholders in Compliance, HR, and other regions of Technology
• Dealing with VPs/SVPs/EVPs and managing directors
• 30 (working with internal supervisors):70 (technology) split

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:

• 3-5 years of recent development experience working with Microsoft Power BI applications (Power BI Report Builder/Desktop and Dataflows) and SharePoint
• 3+ years developing queries and consuming data from data stores and actively working with the data in Power BI or other Power Platform Tools
• Recent experience with SharePoint site- demonstrated recent projects
• Advanced level experience in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPS, IndexMatch, Pivot Tables, etc)

Nice-To-Have Skills:

• Experience in the Financial Services
• Salesforce Experience (Power BI and Salesforce integration)

Soft Skills:

• Excellent communications skills to coordinate with Stakeholders
• Fast, adaptable learner who can hit the ground running
• Ability to work well under pressure while demonstrating strong professionalism
• Must be able to collaborate closely with a team at times, while also being capable of holding themselves accountable to meet individual deadlines without hand holding

Best vs Average:

• The best candidates will be able to showcase their previous projects with Power BI

Degrees or certifications:

• Undergraduate degree
• Power BI Certification is highly desired

Interview Process:

• There will likely be one round of interviews for this position, with the Hiring Manager and Director
