What You Will be Doing:


As a Design Student supporting our Central Projects team, you will reeive hands-on experience to help you develop your technical and leadership abilities. You will be mentored by our seasoned Central Projects Design team, confirming project scope and providing input into the preparation of project estimates. You will work with project data, apply standards and design checks based on engineering standards, codes, and policies to support the design of customer projects, and complete design validations for customer projects.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Confirm scope, prepare or provide input to estimates on distribution projects. Work with project data in SAP, AM/FM and the project management tool.
  • Training on stake and locate new services
  • Apply standards and check designs based on codes and current engineering policies.
  • Use computer software to complete technical calculations to validate design.

  • Readiness to collaborate and work as part of dynamic team.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated ability in sound judgment, critical thinking & problem solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret various land agreements and associated documentation.
  • Attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.


Qualifications we are Looking for:
  • Candidates must be currently enrolled in Electrical Engineering Technologist Diploma program, and be planning to return to a post-secondary institution in a full time capacity.



Special Conditions:
  • Candidates being considered for this position may be subject to additional testing.
  • Due to possible driving requirements for this role, a valid Alberta Motor Vehicle driver\xe2\x80\x99s license in good standing, is required.
