Design Engineer

The Noise Control - Design Engineer will provide specialized support for the design engineering and production of Custom Noise Control systems. This role bridges the gap between engineering and production, ensuring seamless execution of complex noise control solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, project management capabilities, and a collaborative mindset.



The successful candidate's responsibilities will include:



Production Support

Troubleshoot production issues and respond to design-related inquiries. Collaborate closely with production personnel to understand capabilities and limitations. Provide hands-on support to ensure design intent is maintained during fabrication.

Mechanical Aptitude

Proficient in the use of basic hand and power tools. Familiarity with fasteners, mechanical connections, torque specifications, and tolerances.

Purchasing & Vendor Relations

Work alongside Purchasing to source parts and materials aligned with project requirements. Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and customers. Assist with project costing and budgeting.

Project Management

Collaborate with the Logistics team to coordinate logistics and shipping of materials and equipment. Collaborate with Trade Compliance to ensure regulatory adherence. Schedule tasks and manage timelines effectively. Communicate clearly across departments and with external stakeholders. Willingness and ability to travel internationally as needed.

Mechanical Drafting

Create and revise mechanical drawings using SolidWorks. Interpret welding symbols and develop braking/forming layouts. Maintain high attention to detail in all drafting work. Generate complete and accurate Bills of Material (BOMs).

Electrical Knowledge (Asset)

Basic understanding of voltage, amperage, and wiring. Familiarity with electrical certifications such as UL and CE.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:



Technical diploma or equivalent experience in mechanical or manufacturing engineering. SolidWorks proficiency required. Experience in a production or fabrication environment preferred. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
