Overview

Working out of our heavy haul trailer plant in Keswick Ontario, the Design Engineer identifies and develops new designs and/or improve the characteristics of existing products to meet and exceed customer specifications, industry and federal/provincial regulations. The ideal candidate will be able to perform within a fast paced, custom fabrication environment.

Deliverables:

Utilize full potential of design software and support any improvements that can improve and/or automate the design process. Look for and propose potential quality or productivity enhancements. Be aware of departmental objectives and provide regular support in achieving these objectives. Embrace the company vision and always make decisions to get us closer to this vision.

Position Criteria:

Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, PDM/Vault, CADLink / Similar CAD ERP link tool , Familiar with Epicor ERP System, Microsoft Office products A minimum of 3 years' experience with 2D and 3D SolidWorks and CAD programs. Understanding of the manufacturing process and what it takes for GINCOR WERX to be successful. Familiar with transportation industry standards and the pertinent provincial and federal regulations as it pertains the design of TRAILERS. Creative design tendencies with a drive to make things better by solving problems and challenging the status quo. Able to work under minimal supervision while ensuring production, management and other related personnel are aware of the project timelines and the impact on current and future designs. Bachelor of Engineering Degree or Diploma in Engineering Technology. Be familiar with competitor's products and bring forward potential design improvements regularly.
