Job Overview


Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, the Design Engineer will undertake a range of engineering tasks to support the design, validation testing, quality assurance, and manufacturing processes of Eagle machinery. This role is essential for ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of performance and reliability.

Responsibilities



Perform 3D and 2D drafting using Creo and AutoCAD to create layouts and drawings. Validate designs through engineering calculations and simulations, using techniques such as finite element analysis, DFMEA, DFM, and DFA. Prepare technical design proposals for new customer RFQs, including General Assembly drawings and Engineering BOM to support cost estimation. Conduct comprehensive design reviews and prepare documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards/directives, including ANSI, OSHA, AGMA and others as applicable. Support the standardization of Part and Engineering Design processes. Identify opportunities for product enhancements and cost reductions throughout the design process. Support procurement activities by defining technical requirements, issuing requests for quotations, and engaging in technical discussions with suppliers. Collaborate with Project Management to meet timelines and ensure the timely completion of key design activities. Update and maintain the Bill of Materials (BOM) in the ERP system to ensure accurate tracking and management of engineering and production activities. Define design validation requirements and data sheets, witness testing, and review data reports to ensure accuracy and compliance. Address quality issues, establish corrective actions, and implement resolutions as needed. Review Engineering Change Requests resulting from supplier or production feedback and take necessary corrective actions. Support Service team with on-site issues and root cause analysis. Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation. Uphold all company standards, policies, and procedures. Manage time effectively, maintain positive client relationships, and assess personal work performance accurately, demonstrating initiative and professional ethics. Accepting responsibility and accountability commensurate with the position.

Skills



Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Creo Parametric, AutoCAD) and simulation tools Read and interpret engineering drawings at a highly technical level (GD&T) Design experience in Machine Tool industry is highly preferred Pneumatics and Hydraulic system design knowledge would be a plus Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail Strong knowledge on MS Office applications, including Outlook and Adobe Time Management Skills with ability to adapt to situations and multi-task Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Effective Data management skills Speak/read/write fluently in English

Educational Requirements



Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
