Title:
Drafter/Design Coordinator
Reports to: Operations Manager
Department: Architecture & Design Services

Due to company growth, we are excited to be adding a Design Coordinator who will play a critical role in designing, assisting, and coordinating assigned design projects.

The Design Coordinator’s main duties include creating, revising, and coordinating various design documents for design-build projects using AutoCAD. Interpreting zoning by-laws, developing site typologies, and working in collaboration with other Design Team members. The ideal candidate will have previously completed or been a part of a commercial design/drawing project from start to finish. Experience with designs and drawings related to hospitality, retail and millwork projects is an asset.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
(Included but not limited to)

  • Create, modify, and revise architectural floor plans using AutoCAD.
  • Develop and coordinate elevations from existing floor plans.
  • Review zoning and create product typologies.
  • Collaborate with other Sales, Designers, and Project Managers to achieve fluency within each project.
  • Schedule and manage workload to meet desired deadlines.
  • Submit permit applications where required.
  • Develop and coordinate millwork shop drawings.

Qualifications for Design Coordinator:
  • Architectural Technology/Technician Diploma or equivalent.
  • Min. 1-3 years of experience.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Software.
  • Experience reading and analyzing zoning by-laws.
  • Familiarity with Ontario Building Code (OBC) required.
  • Ability to independently develop commercial designs from start to finish.
  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Capable of direct communication with clients via phone and email.
  • Experience with commercial design is an asset.
  • Project Management experience is an asset.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Shop Drawing experience required.

Salary: TBD (Based on Experience).
