Position Overview:
The Design and Merchandising Coordinator plays a key role in the product development and lifecycle management process, working closely with the Head of Brand and Design to support the creation and merchandising of new products. This role involves coordinating design initiatives, managing product rotation, and supporting the execution of effective marketing campaigns.
Responsibilities:
Product Design and Development:
Design and color new products based on current trends and customer needs.
Prepare product information sheets, ensuring all minimum requirements are met.
Participate in meetings with sample makers and suppliers.
Analyze market trends and consumer preferences to forecast upcoming design trends and product needs.
Design and render 3D interior spaces for textile showcases, product launches, and marketing content.
Capture and edit photos and videos of fabric and interior applications for the showroom, website, and social media.
Sample Book Management:
Estimate the cost of sample books and follow up on quotations.
Assist in formatting and laying out sample books.
Handle ID strip information and confirm all required barcodes.
Assist in reviewing and proofreading mock-ups.
Marketing and Showroom Support:
Assist in preparing new product introductions.
Maintain and update product imagery for the website
Support the development and execution of marketing campaigns
Operations and Collaboration:
Manage product rotation to maintain a fresh and relevant product line.
Monitor competitive products for market intelligence.
Assist in organizing and executing company participation at industry trade shows, including booth setup, product displays, and design presentations.
Professional Development and Growth:
Increase knowledge of fabric variations carried by Alendel and the overall textile industry.
Gain familiarity with relevant software and digital tools.
Enhance project management skills and prioritize tasks.
Understand marketing and consumer behavior.
Foster cross-functional collaboration.
Stay updated with the latest design software, tools, and platforms.
Seek mentorship and guidance from industry professionals.
Maintain industry awareness and trends.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Design, Merchandising, Marketing, or a related field.
Experience in textile or fashion industry preferred.
Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop), or equivalent design tools.
3D render software for Interior Design (Kujale or equivalent)
Photography & Video capturing and editing for product, samples, marketing, social media, etc.
Knowledge of product development and merchandising principles.
Understanding of market trends and consumer behavior.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with teams and external stakeholders.

In-office position, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
40 hours per week
Compensation & Benefits:
Annual salary range of $50,000 to $55,000, based on experience and skill
