Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Drafting Technologist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in mechanical design principles and have experience in heavy construction attachment design and/ or heavy metal fabrication. This role will focus on product design and development and supporting the engineering and design team.

Responsibilities

Develop and prepare engineering designs and drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets and other data Design and develop mechanical systems and components using CAD software such as Autodesk Suite Develop and prepare design sketches Complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets Check and verify design drawings to conform to specifications and design data Write technical reports Create detailed CAD technical packages including schematics and drafting documentation in accordance with ASME codes and standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project scheduling aligns with manufacturing timelines.

Experience

Completion of a Mechanical Engineering Technology (CAD/3D design) or equivalent program in drafting or completion of a three- to four-year apprenticeship program or four to five years of related experience plus completion of college or industry courses in drafting 3-5 year of experiences in heavy manufacturing environment Proficiency in Autodesk Suite or similar CAD software for mechanical design is essential. Experience with hydraulics and welded structure design ( AWS, CWB or ISO 2553) Familiarity with project scheduling tools and techniques. Strong organization skills with excellent attention to detail Understanding of mechanical knowledge encompassing manufacturing processes, drafting, and system integration.

Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
