We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dermatology Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive dermatological patient care, including assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans. This role requires a strong background in nursing with specialized knowledge in dermatology, patient care, and medical procedures. The Nurse Practitioner will collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality dermatological services in a clinical setting. Experience with diverse patient populations, including children, seniors, and those requiring chronic or acute care, is highly valued. Responsibilities
Conduct thorough dermatological assessments and examinations of patients across all age groups.
Diagnose skin conditions and develop individualized treatment plans.
Administer medications, including topical and systemic therapies, following established protocols.
Perform minor procedures such as biopsies, excisions, and lesion removal as needed.
Educate patients on skin health, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions.
Document patient encounters accurately using electronic health record systems such as Epic or Cerner.
Collaborate with dermatologists and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care.
Manage case documentation for complex cases involving chronic skin conditions or comorbidities like dementia or senior care needs.
Assist in clinical workflows within the medical office or outpatient setting while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.
Skills
Proven experience in nursing with a focus on dermatology preferred.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, and dermatological procedures.
Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse populations including children and elderly patients.
Ability to perform laboratory procedures such as phlebotomy when necessary.
Compassionate approach to patient education and support for those with acute or ongoing skin issues. This role is integral to providing exceptional dermatological healthcare services while fostering a supportive environment for patients of all ages and backgrounds.
