Summary

The Deputy Construction Manager will assist the Construction Manager in leading all construction and commissioning activities.

*This is a contract position until September 30, 2024*

Primary Responsibilities

  • Positively foster Goal Zero safety culture (Zero Accident, Zero Incident, Zero Infraction)
  • Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques
  • Actively sets up, plans, prepares, coordinates all site works, tests, documents to meet all contractual deadlines; in compliance with applicable Laws and Contract documents
  • Participate in strategic planning activities
  • Participate in the monthly Risk Register and Budget updating
  • Liaise with the Electrical Manager and Elecrical Subcontractor for site coordination.
  • Prepare requests for Change Orders or compensations, and participates in negotiations as and when needed
  • Develop and maintain client and stakeholder relationships
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
  • Fill in for the Construction Manager when absent
Qualifications

Education/Experience
  • Diploma in Civil Engineering or 4-year degree in related field
  • Infrastructure design and construction experience
  • 10 years of prime Construction Management experience within large international engineering or construction firms
  • Knowledge of Airport (airside) works is an asset
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry business practices, legal, business, financial, and long-term implication of complex design and construction contracts and subcontracts.
