The Role

COMMUNITYCONNECT
has built the world's first automated customer service platform for law enforcement that gives agencies the tools they need to best serve their communities. Our platform interacts with 911 callers and victims of crime by communicating with them directly to keep them updated and gather their feedback.
We are seeking a customer-centric, details-driven Deployment Engineer to ensure that we are providing a smooth and efficient deployment process for our customers. The Deployment Engineer is responsible for managing the technical action items for each deployment process, with the primary focus of deploying custom data integration interfaces to a variety of different public safety software systems.
This is a client-facing position, which would require remote presentation and communication skills on a regular basis. Deployment Engineers must have a strong ability to collaborate effectively both internally and externally, can overcome complex problems, and the ability to deploy solutions in an organized, thorough, and timely manner.
This position can be based at any of our offices across Canada and the United States or performed remotely from a home office.
Preference will be given to candidates who are available to work on-site.
What You'll Do
Collaborate with law enforcement agencies to plan, present, and implement technical data interfaces, leveraging ETL fundamentals
Build and maintain data pipelines against REST and SOAP APIs
Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data elements
Manipulate data structures using JSON, XML, SQL, and CSV formats
Perform database discovery and navigate complex SQL schema structures
Lead data quality control validation review sessions
Integrate with both on-premises and cloud-based database systems
Collaborate with project management teams to build sustainable deployment processes and infrastructure
Interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Support customers in a technical capacity throughout the customer lifecycle
What You'll Bring
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (this is a customer-facing role)
2+ years' experience in a customer-facing technical role
4+ years' experience in Information Technology
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent
Proficiency using PowerShell or another scripting language to manipulate data
Proficiency writing complex SQL queries (multiple joins, using CTEs, dynamic T-SQL statements)
A passion for detail and keeping customers happy
A desire to help public safety agencies
Ability to pass a criminal background checks with USA and Canda public safety agencies
You'll Succeed If You Have
A background in ETL software integrations
Data analysis experience
Experience managing technical projects, from initiation to completion
Familiarity with Atlassian (Jira / Confluence), GitHub, Sentry, Datadog, Metabase, PagerDuty
Windows administration experience (scheduled tasks, AD domain)
Understanding of Ruby on Rails or another object-oriented programming language
This position requires security clearances due to the nature of our work with public safety agencies. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada and must successfully obtain and maintain a Reliability security clearance from the Government of Canada. Additionally, candidates must comply with the FBI's Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy and pass a comprehensive, fingerprint-based background check.
