Department of Computer Science





In accordance with article 6.2.2 of the Contract Faculty Collective Agreement, applications are invited for the following courses, to be offered during the following session:


Winter 2026




Lecture course




CS 216 System programming Languages

(3 credits)


Mondays and Wednesdays from 13:00 - 14:29



System programmers need to understand how a computer works at a low level. They program primarily in C, with some assembly language. This course covers number systems, the C programming language, and an assembly language for a representative processor architecture. Topics covered include addressing modes, the stack, function calls and argument passing.


Laboratory course




CSL 216 System Programming Languages Laboratory

(1 credit)


Fridays 13:00 - 15:59



Practical work for CS 216 will consist of programming in C and MIPS assembly language.

All courses will be allotted in accordance with the Contract Faculty Collective Agreement, including the applicable rules for seniority.

Remuneration is $9,560.92 for each 3-credit lecture course or $4,780.46 for each laboratory course, with travel and marking expenses provided where appropriate.
