Casual Nurse

to join our team at

Bruce Grey Dental Centre in Port Elgin

. This role is specifically to support the dental team on sedation days, offering flexible, occasional shifts in a collaborative and patient-centered environment.

About the Role

As a

Casual Nurse

, you will play a key role in supporting patient care and safety during sedation procedures. Working alongside the dental team, you'll help prepare patients, monitor vital signs throughout treatment, and provide recovery support post-procedure.

This role is ideal for a nurse who is confident in sedation monitoring, calm under pressure, and comfortable working in an outpatient dental clinic setting.

Key Responsibilities

Provide pre-operative assessments and prepare patients for sedation procedures Monitor and document patient vital signs throughout sedation and recovery Assist in maintaining a safe clinical environment and respond to any changes in patient condition Support the dental team during sedation cases to ensure patient comfort and safety Provide recovery monitoring and discharge support according to established protocols Ensure compliance with infection control, documentation, and clinical safety standards Collaborate closely with dentists and other team members to provide high-quality patient care

Qualifications

Current registration with the

College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)

Current BLS (Basic Life Support)

certification required ACLS certification is an asset Previous experience with sedation or in a surgical/outpatient environment is preferred Strong patient monitoring and assessment skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Calm, professional, and confident in managing patient care in procedural settings Flexible and reliable, with a commitment to patient safety
