Job Summary Seeking a gentle, caring hygienist who has excellent communication skills and is a team player. - scaling and root planing for all periodontal conditions and ages (from kids to seniors) - polishing and administering/applying fluoride - taking digital radiographs (bitewings, periodicals, panoramic radiograph) - using intra-oral camera to take photos. - setting up and wiping down rooms and flushing out lines between patients - assisting with processing and sterilization of instruments (hygiene and other instruments as needed) - completing odontogram and charting in computer software (Cleardent) - booking your own hygiene patients for their next 6 month scaling, full recare exam and hygiene, etc. - sharpening hygiene instruments on a regular basis - willingness to help other team members/dentist as needed and ability to learn new skills/technologies Job Type / Category This position likely involves working at both of our two locations (west and Windermere) - must be able to work Tuesday and Thursday evenings (up to 8 pm). Wednesdays can be a day-time or evening shift - ideally, this individual can also work at least one Saturday per month - starting in June 2019, additional days can be added (Mondays and occasional Fridays) Required Education, Skills and Qualifications Must be a registered dental hygienist licensed to practice in Alberta. Ability to administer local anesthetic would be a useful skill. Company Profile We have two locations.
