Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team on Saturdays. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of dental procedures and terminology, along with experience in chairside assisting and patient care. This role is essential in providing high-quality support to our dental professionals while ensuring a comfortable experience for our patients.

Duties



Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, including four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and maintain the treatment room, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use. Take and develop dental X-rays, adhering to safety protocols and infection control standards. Record patient medical history, vital signs, and assist with medical documentation as needed. Manage patient flow and ensure a smooth transition between appointments. Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care instructions. Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Utilize EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for efficient patient management. Assist with pediatric dentistry procedures, ensuring a child-friendly environment. Perform sterilization of instruments and adhere to aseptic techniques to prevent infection. Collaborate with the dental team to provide exceptional care across various specialties including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics.

Qualifications



Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic setting is preferred. Proficiency in using Dentrix Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures is essential. Experience with medical imaging techniques and 3D scanners is advantageous. Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic technique. Ability to effectively communicate with patients of all ages, particularly children in pediatric dentistry settings. Competence in medical coding, documentation, and maintaining accurate medical records is beneficial. Certification in CPR or First Aid is preferred but not mandatory.
