We are looking for a detail-oriented and patient-focused
Dental Assistant
to join our team. As a key member of our clinical staff, the Dental Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the delivery of safe, efficient, and compassionate dental care. This position requires a strong work ethic, a commitment to infection control standards, and a positive attitude within a collaborative team environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist the dentist during a wide range of general dental procedures, including restorations, extractions, endodontics, and prosthodontics
Set up and clean treatment rooms before and after appointments
Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of dental instruments and equipment
Take dental radiographs (X-rays) in accordance with HARP regulations
Record and update patient information in the dental software system
Educate patients on oral hygiene and postoperative instructions
Monitor and restock clinical supplies and materials
Adhere to all applicable provincial regulations and infection prevention protocols
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming clinical environment
Qualifications and Requirements:
Completion of a recognized Dental Assisting program (Level I or II)
NDAEB certification (for Level II assistants)
Current HARP certification (mandatory)
CPR certification (preferred)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical setting
A professional, team-first attitude and commitment to patient care
Experience with dental software (e.g. Tracker, Dentrix, AbelDent, Paradigm) is an asset but not required
