About Radius Dental Clinic




Radius Community Health and Healing Dental Clinic is a unique clinical practice that prioritizes dental care accessibility for individuals who may not otherwise be able to access, or afford, dental care. Radius offers dental care on a sliding fee schedule based on an individual or family's income, and prioritizes inclusive, non-judgmental, trauma-informed care. The Dental Clinic provides restorative and preventative care and features associate staff dentists as well as a partnership with University of Alberta dentistry and dental hygiene students.




The dental receptionist/administration role provides clinical support to the dentistry team. They are a vital team member who is responsible for helping our patient's access dental care within their financial capabilities.


This includes:

Be proficient with dental software. Check in patients and update their information. Schedule, coordinate and confirm appointments. Answer phones, return messages in a timely manner. Call patients to remind them of their outstanding dental needs. Understanding of dental insurance and the billing process. Collect for treatment and explain billing estimates to patient. Balance day end patient payments, enter daily stats. Management of patient flow throughout the clinic Ensure all referrals are forwarded with the correct documentation, radiographs, pictures. Coordinate medical documents and records. Ensure lab cases have been sent and returned. Ensure the privacy of our patients is protected. Responsible for opening and closing of clinic. Compliance to all relevant Alberta practice standards, including ADA&C standards and infection prevention & control guidelines.

Qualifications

Dental clinic experience or dental administration course taken.

Mandatory vulnerable sector check and suitable criminal record check

Skills and Competencies

Able to balance numerous demands and conflicting priorities, strong problem-solving skills. Prior experience with Dentrix an asset, as well as Office 365 software suite Be able to work both co-operatively within a multidisciplinary team, and independently in a self-directed and accountable manner. Ability to demonstrate patience and understanding for those with addictions and behavioral disorders. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Has a good understanding of trauma-informed care and must be able to operate within a harm reduction model of care. Knowledge and experience working with diverse and marginalized populations.
