Purpose



As a Delivery Supervisor, you'll lead the daily delivery and logistics operations that keep our groceries moving accurately, on time, and at the highest standard of quality. You'll oversee mid-mile and last-mile activities, from pickups and transfers to urgent customer needs, while guiding and developing a team of drivers and coordinators. With a focus on scheduling, coaching, and performance tracking, you'll help create a culture of safety, accountability, and customer care.

You'll also be hands-on in shaping the team by hiring, onboarding, and training new members, and by using routing platforms, telematics, and other tools to drive efficiency and reliability. As a frontline leader, you won't just supervise, you'll jump in to support the team whenever needed, including making deliveries. In this role, you'll also serve as backup to the Delivery Manager, taking ownership to keep things running seamlessly.

Duties

& Responsibilities



Lead and own the day-to-day operations of mid-mile and last-mile delivery, ensuring all routes, pickups, and transfers are executed accurately, on time, and with excellent customer service. Inspire, coach, and develop delivery drivers and coordinators through daily feedback, performance management, and positive, hands-on leadership. Foster a culture of safety, respect, accountability, and customer focus across the delivery team. Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members, ensuring they are set up for success and aligned with company standards. Manage weekly scheduling and labor planning, balancing efficiency, cost control, and service quality. Use routing software and telematics tools to build optimized routes, track driver performance, and monitor key metrics such as on-time delivery, efficiency, and delivery completion. Maintain accurate records and documentation in delivery systems, including route sheets, checklists, and performance data. Partner with warehouse and customer care teams to ensure seamless order flow and the highest service standards. Take ownership of vehicle and equipment needs, escalating issues to the Fleet Manager. Be ready to step in as needed to support drivers on the road, ensuring timely completion of deliveries and transfers. This includes operating 3-ton and 5-ton trucks for mid-mile transfers (e.g., Calgary to Edmonton), handling direct-to-consumer (D2C) and direct-store-delivery (DSD) routes, and applying safe winter-driving practices to maintain service reliability. Serve as the primary backup to the Delivery Manager, ensuring continuity of leadership, operations, and cross-functional coordination during absences. Perform other duties as needed to support the success of delivery operations.

Qualification, skills, and education requirements:



Minimum 2+ years of experience in logistics or delivery operations, in a coordinator, supervisory, or higher-level role. University or college degree in Business or a related field. Valid Class 5 driver's license with a reasonably clean driver's abstract. Experience operating 3- and 5-ton trucks, including winter driving experience in challenging conditions. Proven leadership and team management skills, with a genuine passion for coaching, developing, and inspiring employees to reach their full potential while achieving results. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with the ability to use reports and data to support decisions; Power BI experience is a plus Exceptional communication and customer service skills, with polished written and verbal English. Familiarity with routing software, telematics, and delivery optimization tools. Flexible and adaptable, highly reliable and detail-oriented, with a self-starter mindset and a passion for supporting others, solving problems, and taking initiative without being asked.

Physical demands & working conditions:



Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs Extended periods seated while driving; exposure to cold and refrigerated environments. Requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, and lean for extended periods. Must be prepared to work in winter conditions, including snow and ice, and perform physical tasks such as clearing snow from vehicles and work areas as required. Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings and overtime as needed.
