Delivery Driver - G Class
to join our
Belleville
team and help us build what really matters!
THE OPPORTUNITY:
Full-Time
Monday to Friday
8:00am - 4:30pm
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Executes the delivery to the Customers according to the manifested delivery route order as determined by the Supervisor and/or Router/Shipper.
Assists in loading and unloading of trucks.
Ensures product in truck is loaded in a safe manner prior to vehicle movement, the inspections and the maintenance of the truck, performs circle check of truck on a daily basis, and notifies supervisor of any problem(s).
Executes customer and/or supplier pick-ups as required according to established procedures. Ensures proper documents are used and obtain signatures/proof of delivery (POD) where necessary.
Completes all the necessary delivery documents according to the established procedures, controls data for certain reports (i.e. Delivery run sheets) and, remits them to their immediate supervisor.
Utilizes and maintains the Geotab platform as required and completes appropriate inspection documents.
Follows safe driving practices and adheres to all Ministry of Transportation regulations.
Ensures cash sale funds are picked up from the customer and given directly to appropriate staff.
Maintains security of product and vehicle.
Reports job site progress and new development to supervisor.
Liaises any information to improve delivery process with supervisor.
Supports the transportation of Company vehicles to and from the repair shop, as well as the pick-up of rental equipment, as required.
Notifies Supervisor of any at-fault accidents and/or tickets incurred at any given time during the course of employment.
On occasion, puts away stock and/or yard material in their appropriate location.
Executes all other duties required by the position and/or asked by the immediate supervisor.
WHAT YOU BRING TO OUR TEAM:
Grade 12 or equivalent
Valid Class "G" Driver License and clean driver's abstract
2 Years' previous experience as a Delivery Driver in customer-service related industry
Previous experience operating 24ft single-axle straight truck
Previous experience utilizing an electronic logging device (i.e. Geotab), preferred
Previous warehousing/forklift experience, an asset
Exceptional customer service skills
Strong communication skills - written and verbal, in English
Good organization skills, attention to detail
Ability to respond positively to all situations that may occur in shipping
Comfortable with physical work including lifting, carrying and moving
Safety conscious
