Job Description

Our driver represents PETSlink Distribution to many of our customers. Success in this role is dependent on the ability to achieve on-time and damage-free deliveries and returns while providing a high level of customer service SAFELY.

Our driver will operate a tandem-axle truck to deliver pet food and supplies to several of our customer locations within Alberta from Okotoks to Fort Saskatchewan, off-load product into the stores, and perform product returns to the warehouse. Our regular work is year-round, Monday through Friday - no weekends or statutory holidays.

Qualifications, Experience and Abilities

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following:

A valid Class 3 driver's license with air endorsement. A copy of medical certification, if required A good driving record (abstract) is required Current certification in Alberta Hours of Service, Daily Trip Inspection, Cargo Securement, and Weights and Dimensions Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience driving Class 3 commercial vehicles
The ideal candidate for this position must be:

At least 21 years of age Able to perform physical duties (lift up to 70 lbs.) A motivated, self-starter and have the ability to work alone Willing to start early and work long hours
Previous pet supply industry experience an asset.

General Responsibilities

Under direction of the PETSlink Warehouse Manager, the driver is responsible to:

Adhere to Provincial and Federal commercial vehicle regulations Adhere to Alberta Occupational Health and Safety standards Operate the commercial vehicle in a safe and professional manner Operate vehicle safely in adverse weather conditions Perform a daily pre-trip inspection of vehicle Complete Alberta Hours of Service paperwork Load pallets of pet supplies on truck, ensure the load is secure for transport Unload pet supplies into Pet Planet stores Work closely with store staff in product placement, returns, etc.

Company Compensation and Benefits

Wage of $28-$30/hr. based on 45-55 hour week Overtime paid after weekly hours exceed 50 hours Company health care benefits Paid vacation days Deliveries primarily in Calgary and area Delivers to Edmonton and area two days per week Straight day shift - driver returns home every night Driver does not work weekends or statutory holidays
