Job Description

We are looking for an outgoing person who is interested in learning new skills and motivated to master the job. We are offering a part-time permanent position ( 15- 20 hours).

Position Summary:

The Deli Clerk is responsible for carrying out the wide variety of duties of the position in a professional, responsible, accurate and timely fashion. The Clerk will deliver outstanding customer service, foster a strong customer experience, fulfill customer needs and actively contribute to an environment of employee and customer engagement.

Required Qualifications & Competencies:

Prepare and serve deli items such as sandwiches and salads Cash register operation, handling cash transactions accurately Using a slicer to cut meat and cheese Provide superior customer service to all guests Ensure cleaning and sanitation standards are met Assist customers with their orders and provide excellent customer service Upsell additional deli items or promotions to customers Maintain a clean and organized work area Follow proper food handling procedures and adhere to all health and safety regulations Regularly washing dishes Stocking groceries and merchandising of product Putting away stock orders. Additional duties may be assigned as needed

Skills and Qualifications:

Previous retail or customer service experience in a grocery setting is an asset We are willing to train positive, energetic, and success-oriented individuals with relevant experience Superb customer service skills with a desire to provide a great shopping experience for every customer Ability to work in a safe and responsible manner Work well in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of European and Dutch products is an asset Food handling certificate is an asset
