As a Deli Associate, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service while preparing and serving high-quality deli products. You will be responsible for maintaining food safety standards, ensuring cleanliness in the deli area, and assisting customers with their selections. Your ability to upsell products and create a welcoming environment will enhance the overall customer experience.

Duties

Prepare and serve deli items, including meats, cheeses, salads, and sandwiches, following food safety guidelines. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the deli area, ensuring all equipment is sanitized and ready for use. Assist customers by providing recommendations and answering questions about menu items. Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently while maintaining a balanced cash register. Upsell additional products to enhance customer purchases and increase sales. Monitor inventory levels of deli products and assist with restocking as needed. Follow all food handling procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.

Skills

Experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred. Strong cash handling skills with attention to detail in transactions. Basic math skills for accurate pricing and change calculations. Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations. Understanding of food safety practices and regulations. Excellent communication skills to effectively assist customers and work as part of a team. Ability to upsell products creatively while maintaining a friendly demeanor. Willingness to help teammates and contribute positively to the work environment.
