Powell's Supermarket, Bay Roberts, is now hiring a Deli Clerk!

Looking for a challenge? Experience is an asset, but not necessary! We are currently hiring a Deli Associate at our Bay Roberts location.

Job Responsibilities:

Provide a high level of prompt and friendly customer service Maintain a positive work environment Prepare vegetables, meat and sandwiches Utilize and prepare products in creative ways Prepare "fresh and easy meals" while maintaining strict adherence to Company recipes Properly cut, wrap and scale deli items Operate slicer, wrapping and cooking equipment Assist in maintaining all equipment in safe working conditions Assist with inventory Assist with unloading, stocking, facing, filling and rotating merchandise Observe temperatures within cooler and report failures to management Knowledge of weekly ad items Answer phone and take special orders General housekeeping in the department Clean and sanitize work area (including tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, freezer, etc.) Other related duties as assigned.

Desired Skills and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent and experience working in grocery, restaurant, or related field; or an acceptable combination of education and experience. Excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude are essential to interact with customers and employees Reliable and dependable Ability to follow direction Good communication skills Ability to perform repetitious activities Requires the ability to reach, bend, balance, lift and transport various objects, at times could weigh up to 30 lbs. (assistance will be provided with heavy items) Must have the ability to stand, walk and/or move about for extended periods of time Will involve frequent repetitive hand coordination
