NWCC Marine Services is looking for seasonal deckhands The Norman Wells Claimant Corporation (\xe2\x80\x9cNWCC\xe2\x80\x9d), a wholly owned and operated indigenous corporation, is seeking interested applicants to fill seasonal Deckhand positions for NWCC\xe2\x80\x99s Marine Services with a two (2) weeks on \xe2\x80\x93 two (2) weeks off rotational basis. Interested applicants must be available for training and orientation in Norman Wells, NT. Camp accommodation and food will be provided, along with transportation. NWCC\xe2\x80\x99s Marine Services operates in a highly regulated industry. All crew members will require clearance of pre-access drug & alcohol testing and may subject to additional random testing and spot checks throughout the operating season. The main duties of the Deckhand shall consist, but not limited to, of the following: - shall prepare the vessel and docks for the daily operations. - shall facilitated the on and off boarding of vehicles, equipment and materials on the vessel. - shall assist in the berthing and unberthing of the vessel by handling the necessary mooring lines, ramps and other equipment. - Check safety gear, clean vessel and any other tasks assigned to him/her by the Captain. Minimal Qualifications: - Class \xe2\x80\x985\xe2\x80\x99 License or equivalent. - High School Education or equivalent. - Ability to perform Helmsman\xe2\x80\x99s duties, including steering the ship, maintaining compass courses, and understanding and complying with steering orders. Additional Qualifications or ability to receive training in: - CSTS-09 or Equivalent. - H2S Alive or Awareness. - Confined Space Entry. - First Aid. - Transportation of Dangerous Goods. - WHIMIS. Desired Attributes: - Able to accurately perform record-keeping tasks. - Able to meet and deal with public in a diplomatic and courteous manner. - Able to receive and follow instructions from supervisor(s).
